Who is the political figure most hated by the French

The French have largely lost confidence in political institutions and their representatives. Here is the list of political figures with the lowest popularity rating.

As France goes through an unprecedented political crisis, the French are losing confidence in institutions and the government. La Tribune Sunday shares the Ipsos political barometer, which shows that the popularity rating of political figures in power is at its lowest.

Emmanuel Macron has never been so little appreciated by the French. His popularity rating fell for the third year in a row to 21%. The incomprehension following the dissolution of the Assembly, the unusual choice of the two Prime Ministers who followed and his management of the crisis continued to disappoint the French.
The Prime Minister is not appreciated by the French either, with a popularity rating of 20% just a few weeks after his arrival at Matignon. Even Michel Barnier did better with 34% of opinions favorable to his arrival as Prime Minister. It must be said that the French clearly expressed their preference during the last legislative elections, and the MoDem, led by François Bayrou, is not one of them.

What about other members of the government?

The Bayrou government has fairly low popularity. His main ministers, Interior, Justice, Culture, Overseas and the Armed Forces, did not win over the citizens, even if François Bayrou insisted on appointing personalities known to the general public. They are indeed known, but not necessarily for the right reasons given their popularity.

Bruno Retailleau, the Minister of the Interior, only convinces 35% of French people. He is closely followed by Gérald Darmanin, Keeper of the Seals, who has 33% favorable opinions. Next comes Rachida Dati (Culture) and Manuel Valls (Overseas) who convince 18% of French people. Finally comes Sébastien Lecornu, who has a particularly low popularity rating at 14%.
