His real name is Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci. He was born on April 15, 1452 in Florence. Before modern naming conventions in Europe, his name was Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci. The meaning of this name is Leonardo, son of the master Piero of Vinci.
Leonardo da Vinci, painter, architect, sculptor and inventor, was the person with the greatest knowledge of science of the time. Today, he owns two of the world’s most famous and admired paintings, the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper.
Leonardo Da Vinci Life
Considered one of the most talented and creative scientists in history, Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci was born in 1452 in the village of Vinci, near Florence. When Vinci was 5-6 years old, he worked with an architect and laid the foundation for his future works. He learned geometry and building information from this architect. Even in his childhood, Leonardo attracted a lot of attention with his talent for painting, compared to his peers.
After his father saw Vinci’s talent, he placed him in the workshop of Andrea del Verrochio, one of Florence’s most famous artists. While continuing to work in his master’s workshop since 1472, he also started to work around San Luca as an independent professional painter. He received his first order in 1478. He drew his first portrait.
It is said that he started working on the Mona Lisa in 1503, which is considered one of the best paintings in human history. After completing this painting, he never left it with him and carried it with him on all his travels.
Leonardo Da Vinci died at his home in Amboise on May 2, in the spring of 1519, at the age of 67.
