Who is Johanna Wokalek The new police call 110 commissioner

The Munich police have already called lots of big names seen. If we go back in the history of the TV format, there are episodes with the always excellent Matthias Brandt in the lead role. Verena Altenberger most recently investigated in the state capital of Bavaria. But this era is now officially over.

With Police Call 110: Little Boxes, the Munich Police Call introduces us to a new character that we have never seen before: Johanna Wokalek is now embodied Cris Blohm. Your first case is a controversial one. It deals with serious issues such as police violence and racism, which put the skills of the new investigator to the test.

Police call 110: Who is the new Commissioner Cris Blohm?

Cris Blohm is a new character who is introduced into the Police Call universe as part of Little Boxes. The Chief Detective Inspector has completed several assignments abroad and is now moving back to Munich. In the Tagesspiegel review, Cris Blohm is described as follows:

[…] Cris Blohm played by Wokalek […] is a promising figure. She can never be provoked, she always works curious and open. Wokalek plays the inspector in a mischievous and fearlessly friendly way. How do you know Cris Blohm actress Johanna Wokalek?

Johanna Wokalek, born in 1975, has already had a long career. She was already seen on stage in the theater in the 1990s, before more and more roles in film and television productions followed. The local film Hierankl from 2003 is considered her breakthrough. She got it for her performance Bavarian Film Prize.

The new Munich police call team: Johanna Wokalek, Stephan Zinner and Bless Amada

Five years later she played it RAF terrorist Gudrun Ensslin in the celebrated historical drama The Baader Meinhof Complex. In 2009 she took on the title role in the bestselling film adaptation The Pope. Also worth mentioning with regard to her work is the German end-time film The Coming Days from 2010.

With Crime stories and investigations Wokalek knows his stuff very well. Over the years she has been involved in three different crime scenes: Crime Scene: The Dead Chinese (2008), Crime Scene: Wrong Rabbit (2019) and Crime Scene: Sara’s Confession (2022). She was most recently seen on the big screen in the outstanding historical film Sisi & Me.

Another new face: Who is Bless Amada?

Chris Blohm is not investigating alone. At her side is another new character that we can welcome to the Police Call universe as part of Little Boxes: Otto Ikwuakwu. He is played by Bless Amada. He is known, among other things, from the ZDF two-parter Waldgericht – A Black Forest Crime, the Netflix series Kitz and the comedy Beckenrand Sheriff, which can also be found in Wokalek’s filmography.

And what happened to Stephan Zinner Dennis Eden?

Don’t worry: Stephan Zinner is still part of the Munich police call. Together with Verena Altenberger he led as Dennis Eden the three past cases: Police call 110: Mrs. Schrödinger’s cat (2021), Police call 110: The light that the dead see (2022) and Police call 110: Paranoia. He previously appeared in other roles in Police Call 110: How is the World So Quiet (2008) and Police Call 110: Crime Scenes (2018).

Police Call 110: Little Boxes airs tonight, September 17, 2023 20:15 in the first. The broadcast lasts until 9:45 p.m. The repeat follows at 9:45 p.m. on ONE and in the night from Monday to Tuesday at 12:15 a.m. on Erste. Alternatively, you can watch the episode in the ARD media library. Little Boxes celebrated its premiere at the German Film Festival in Ludwigshafen on September 2nd, 2023.
