[Mis à jour le 19 juin 2022 à 17h14] This Sunday, June 19, 2022, the French are called to the polls in the context of the second round of the legislative elections. They will have to choose those who will represent them in the National Assembly for the next five years. 1,150 candidates are still in the running to become a member of the nation, as officially announced by the Ministry of the Interior, which is organizing the ballot. This number is slightly lower than the number of qualified on the evening of the first round, some candidates having decided to throw in the towel. From eight triangles, we went to seven and a few duels turned into a single-ballot second round. One of the candidates benefiting from this withdrawal – and being certain of being elected MP – is Clémentine Autain, in the 11th district of Seine-Saint-Denis.

It should be noted that a candidate who has met the conditions to qualify in the first round (arriving among the first two in the first round or in third position, but with 12.5% of registered voters) is not automatically a candidate in fine for the second round. Candidates wishing to remain had until Tuesday, June 14 at 6 p.m. to resubmit their candidacy for this second round.

In addition to the five territories where the candidates were elected in the first round, there are thus a little more than 570 constituencies which are concerned this Sunday by this grand final of the 2022 legislative elections, most of the time during duels. In mainland France, there are 538 duels and 7 triangular. About 270 duels oppose Together! and the Nupes, more than a hundred put the presidential coalition against the RN, about sixty saw the New Popular Union confront the Lepenist party. There are 25 RN-LR duels, 24 Nupes-LR duels and 18 Ensemble!-LR duels. You should also know that 5 MPs were elected in the first round last Sunday, 4 for the Nupes and one for the presidential majority.

Who are the LREM candidates in the 2nd round of the 2022 legislative elections?

First element on the candidates running for these legislative elections on the side of the majority: 15 ministers in office are candidates under the banner “Together!”, all have been qualified, which is not the case for former ministers like Jean- Michel Blanquer, eliminated in the first round last Sunday. The majority is still present in about 400 constituencies, 270 of which give rise to a duel with the Nupes of Jean-Luc Mélenchon and his allies. Among the candidates LREM, Modem, Horizons, etc. to follow this Sunday, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne in Calvados, Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin in the North, or, in worse shape, Amélie de Montchalin in Essonne. Outside government, Richard Ferrand is on favorable ballot in Finistère and Christophe Castaner in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.

Who are the Nupes candidates to follow during this 2nd round of the legislative elections?

On the side of Nupes, nearly 370 candidates were maintained in the second round this Sunday, June 19. In addition to the 4 elected in the first round for the coalition of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, it will be necessary to follow noting this Sunday François Ruffin in the Somme, Fabien Roussel and Adrien Quatennens in the North, Manuel Bompard in the Bouches-Du-Rhône, in the constituency that Jean-Luc Mélenchon leaves, Olivier Faure in Seine-Et-Marne, Cédric Villani in Essonne, Rachel Keke the “housekeeper who aims for the Assembly” in Val-De-Marne, Delphine Batho in the Two -Sèvres, Sandrine Rousseau, Julien Bayou, Aymeric Caron and Danielle Simonnet in Paris, Boris Vallaud in Landes, André Chassaigne in Puy-De-Dôme, and Eric Coquerel and Raquel Garrido in Seine-Saint-Denis.

Among the Socialists as among the other forces of the left, the agreement concluded with La France insoumise before these legislative elections is not unanimous. The competing nominations have multiplied, like that of the socialist Lamina EL Aaraje who formalized on May 11 the maintenance of her candidacy in the 15th district of Paris, where she remains in ballotage with Danielle Simonnet, the candidate invested by Nupes. In the North, Fabien Roussel, leader of the PCF, also faced a communist departmental councilor, Eric Renaud, who was eliminated and called to vote for Nupes in the second round this Sunday.

Who are the LR candidates to stand for the 2022 legislative elections?

If for these legislative elections, several Republican candidates have decided to throw in the towel after the slap received in April, during the presidential election (around twenty, at most according to Franceinfo and Le Figaro), the party seems to be floating before this 2nd round. Despite Valérie Pécresse’s score, LR wants to rely on its local roots, like an Eric Ciotti still in the race in the Alpes-Maritimes. The Republicans intend to surf on their map of “territorial party” to try to rise to the surface. If at LR, some have advocated the alliance with La République en Marche, the leadership of the party was very clear, in a press release of April 26: “we refuse the logic of the single party at the disposal of the President of the Republic. Republicans are neither fungible in macronism nor in lepenism.”

Who are the RN and Reconquest candidates for the 2022 legislative elections?

If the left has managed to unite, on the far right, it is far from being the case. The National Rally completely stifled Reconquest during the first round last Sunday which failed to qualify any candidate, not even Eric Zemmour, candidate in the Var. If she seems on track to keep her seat at the Palais Bourbon by representing herself in Pas-de-Calais, Marine Le Pen sees other central figures of the party also (re)launching themselves in the race for the Assembly: the deputies outgoing Sébastien Chenu or Bruno Bilde. Jordan Bardella, on the other hand, was not invested. Note that the RN has not invested a candidate against Nicolas Dupont-Aignan nor Emmanuelle Ménard, companion of Robert Ménard, still in contention for this second round.
