Financial aid will be granted to vocational high schools from 1 January 2024 to support young people during their training in companies. Here are the conditions.
As part of the promotion of training periods in the workplace, high school students will be able to benefit from financial aid, from 2024. A decree published in the Official Journal of August 12, 2023 details the conditions of this new allowance intended for high school students in training who are preparing a level 3 and 4 vocational diploma.
Which high school students are affected by this new allowance?
“Pupils of a public or private vocational high school or multi-purpose high school under an association contract within the framework of vocational secondary education, as well as pupils enrolled in certain establishments under the public education service (regional establishments of adapted education, school for air and space pupils…)” can claim this new aid, specifies the decree.
What are the conditions for receiving assistance from vocational high schools?
High school students preparing for a level 3 or 4 diploma will have to sign an internship agreement with a company in which they are continuing their training.
When will the allowance for high school students on the pro track be paid?
If the text comes into force from the start of the school year in September 2023, the payment of the allowance by the Services and Payment Agency for the periods of training in a professional environment carried out in 2023 will take place from January 1, 2024, specifies the decree.
What is the amount of aid for professional high schools?
The amount of the allowance depends on the number of actual days completed during the student’s training period, as well as the type of training and the level of education. A daily passbetween 10 and 20 euros per day worked could thus be granted to the high school student. The Ministry of National Education states that “The student’s attendance will be taken into account in the company and at school”, when this allowance is paid.
