Which party leader would the Swedish people most like to have a Christmas dinner at? – here comes the answer

Food companies have asked the question: Which party leader would you most like to have a Christmas dinner at? In total, there are 1024 Swedes who have responded to the trade and employer organization via Demoskop. The survey took place between 24 October and 1 November and is therefore not the Green Party’s Daniel Helldén with, when he only became spokesperson on 18 November.

Pleasantness important at the Christmas table

39 percent of those who responded to the survey base their choice on which party leader seems the nicest, rather than which party leader they most agree with. This group consisted of 24 percent of those who answered. 23 percent answered that they chose the party leader to have Christmas dinner with based on the party leader they were most curious about.

– Do you eat the grilled salmon before the meatballs? Do you sing to full cups to “Hello, Santa Claus”? Do you wait with the second layer in the chocolate box until the first is finished? The issues of fact and political conviction are of course most important, but when it weighs evenly in public opinion, “likeability”, or in this case “julability” can be the difference between winning and losing, says Jimmy Sandell who is head of communications and business policy at Livsmedelsföretagen.

Which party leader would the Swedes most like to eat Christmas dinner with?

It is the party leader of the Social Democrats Magdalena Andersson who takes home the win for this year. As many as 30 percent of the respondents prefer to eat Christmas dinner at Anderson’s house rather than the other party leaders.
