Is Healthy Eating Enough For Great Skin?

Senescence or natural aging of the skin is accelerated by environmental factors (tobacco, lifestyle, sleep…) among which the Sun and UV play the leading role. In addition to effective sun protection, eating carotenoids present in many fruits (apricot, mango, melon …) and vegetables (parsley, spinachlettuce, watercress, broccoli…) playing the role of pigment in the skin, helps protect the skin a little more from the harmful effects of UV rays.

However, make no mistake, the power supply only offers weak protection against the rays. ultraviolet and the only valid protection remains moderation of exposure (do not expose yourself between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. in summer, and avoid prolonged exposure), wearing covering clothing as often as possible (T-shirt or shirts long-sleeved, wide-brimmed hat …) and theapplication of a Solar cream every two hours.

The Mediterranean diet

Most of nutrients necessary for the skin, but also for the cardiovascular system, are provided by a diet close to cretan diet (rich in fruits and vegetables, olive oil and favoring fish over meat). These foods make us beautiful skin because they are indeed rich in antioxidants (vitamin C and E, flavonoids …) which oppose the phenomenon ofoxidation cells, a biological mechanism that plays a role in aging and the risk of cell cancerization.

It also brings the iron and the Fatty acids essential for healthy skin and hair. But a healthy diet is not everything and wrinkles are not only linked to the natural evolution of the skin as it ages and to conformation of the face, but above all, they are accentuated by thesolar exposure which is the major factor in accelerating aging cutaneous.
