Which accessories can I use and what do I need to buy?

Sony has introduced its new PS5 Pro. Many people are now asking themselves: Can I continue to use my old accessories or do I have to buy everything new?

What does the PS5 Pro come with? A DualSense wireless controller and a copy of Astro’s Playroom are pre-installed with every PS5 Pro purchase. The PS5 Pro is available as a disc-less console, with the disc drive for the PS5 available to purchase separately.

Can I use my old DualSense on the PS5 Pro? The PS5 Pro officially ships with a DualSense controller and existing DualSense controllers can be connected. The same goes for the DualSense Edge, the official Pro controller for the PS5.

You don’t have to buy new controllers. The old devices will continue to work.

Is the PS5 Pro compatible with PS5 accessories? Yes, the PS5 Pro is compatible with accessories for the regular PS5. Specifically, Sony lists the following accessories:

Any devices that you can connect to your PS5 via USB or a USB dongle should also be compatible and work.

What is not compatible with the PS5 Pro? All devices that you could no longer use with the PS5. This includes the old DualShock controllers and PSVR for the PS4.

According to initial statements, the PS5 will continue not to support a Bluetooth connection. Headphones or headsets that rely on Bluetooth are also not supported by the PS5 Pro.
