Released in 2014, The Forest quickly established itself as a pillar of the survival-horror genre, offering unique construction and cooperation mechanics to its thousands of players. Nine years and a sequel released later, here we are again on a trying journey in Sons of the Forest, the new creation from the studios of Endnight Games. A game that immerses you once again on an unknown and hostile island by offering you different options to find equipment. Here’s how to find an essential element of the game: the shovel.
Where to find the shovel in Sons of the Forest?
Once out of your helicopter crash, there are several options available to you. The first and most obvious is to scour the wreckage of your transport for supplies and items to use. Once this essential step has been completed, head towards the coast by descending the slope. Use your GPS to locate the nearest points of interest. You will be able to see two cellars there, one indicated in the mountain, and one below. It is towards this second cellar that you must go if you want to find the shovel quickly. It is located at the source of a river and is easily recognizable due to the three impaled corpses in front of its entrance. A decoration with dubious taste which should not prevent you from progressing in its underground depths. To advance further, you will need the grapple gun and air rebreather. Progress through this cave and you’ll find the shovel near a body at the exit.
