The head of the rapid support forces (FSR), General Mohamed Hamdane Daglo known as Hemedti, has not appeared in public for more than 40 days. This absence, however, raises questions about the whereabouts of Hemedti and questions about his safety.
He does not communicate either with the media and the televisions as it was the case at the beginning of the war started on April 15 and which opposes him to the regular army. He no longer shows himself on the ground in Khartoum among his men.
On May 15, in a sound recording, Mohamad Hamdane Daglo assures us that he is still present in Khartoum with his men. On May 30, it was his brother Abderrahim Daglo who appeared in Khartoum to affirm that Hemedti is ” in good health and at the head of his forces on the front “. On June 28, in another recording broadcast on the occasion of Eid el-Adha, the first sends his wishes to the Sudanese without specifying where he is.
Well-informed sources in Benghazi say Hemedti visited the Libyan city ruled by his ally Marshal Khalifa Haftar a month ago.
” But he may have moved since, as he fears for his safety. “says one of these sources.
Some Sudanese observers report its presence in the border triangle between southern Libya, eastern Chad and western Sudanese Darfur.
For some analysts, he would be trying to empty Western Darfur of its inhabitants to withdraw there with his forces in case of failure against the regular army in Khartoum.
