What are the symptoms of legionella?
First and foremost: most people who are infected with the legionella bacteria do not get sick. A few vulnerable groups (people over 60, smokers, people in poor health) do have a higher chance. If you are infected, you can get pneumonia. It often starts with a cold, cough, fever and muscle aches. Headaches, shortness of breath and drowsiness may also follow. The GGD recommends that you contact your general practitioner in the event of such complaints.
