Roberto Carlos was known as a true free kick master.
But once he was outwitted – by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
And a short time later, the Swede also offered a real football lesson.
Say Roberto Carlos and the first thing that comes to mind are hard left shots, huge free kick goals – and delicious brass tricks. Roberto Carlos is best known for his gigantic free-kick goal against France, when his shot defied all laws of nature.
A real lesson
Carlos often got the chance to test his big left-hander on free kicks from long range. When he left Real Madrid, he played for a number of different clubs around Europe, including Turkish side Fenerbahce. But one match there, against Inter and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he had to face his boss.
In the match, Fenerbahce received a free kick shortly into the offensive half of the pitch. Roberto Carlos, as expected, stepped up. But it was a major failure. Carlos was not even close to succeeding in anything spectacular, and in the other team Zlatan Ibrahimovic now wanted to prove something. Later, Inter received a free kick from approximately the same distance.

Incredible goal
Zlatan Ibrahimovic stepped up, got in a cannonball, which the goalkeeper barely managed to parry. However, Ibrahimovic was not done with his trolling for the day. Later in the match he ended up one-on-one with Carlos in the penalty area, and once again a lesson in football trolling was handed out.
Zlatan feinted at some point, before he distinctly placed the ball in the cross, with no chance for both Carlos and the Turkish team’s goalkeeper. Sure, he may not have been at the absolute peak of his career, but to troll like that against Roberto Carlos is, after all, huge respect!
