Anatomy of a fall won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday May 27, 2023. Directed by Justine Triet (Sybil, Victoria), the feature film retraces the trial of a writer accused of the death of her husband. By winning the supreme award on the Croisette, the French director becomes the third woman crowned at Cannes, after Jane Campion and Julia Ducournau. Anatomy of a fall is due out in theaters very soon, August 23, 2023.
In the cast of the Palme d’or 2023, we find the German actress Sandra Hüller (Toni Erdmann, The Zone of interest), but also the French actors Antoine Reinartz (César for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in 2018) and Swann Arlaud (César for Best Actor in 2018).
Synopsis – Sandra, Samuel and their visually impaired son, Daniel, 11 years old, have been living together for a year in the mountains. One day, Samuel, Sandra’s husband, is found dead at the foot of their house. A suspicious death investigation is opened, and his wife is quickly in the sights of justice.
