The escalator, which malfunctioned in the morning at Sunae Subway Station in the city of Seongnam in the southeast of South Korea, moved in the opposite direction. The passengers, who were on the stairs that changed direction suddenly, lost their balance and fell from the stairs. While those moments were reflected on the station’s security camera, it was announced that 14 people were injured. Three people, who were taken to the hospital with injuries to their back and legs, were discharged after their treatment. It was stated that nobody’s life was in danger.
