When you look through “Svennis” merit list, it is not difficult to understand why. The Swede has over 40 years in absolute top football where he has won the UEFA Cup with IFK Gothenburg, Serie A with Lazio and led the English national team to name a few.
Sven-Göran Eriksson has thus been through a lot, and one has trained a handful of different players. When he visited Sky Sports’ “Monday Night Football” a couple of years ago, he was asked to bring out his best, without English players, eleven ever – and a favorite player.
Former superstars like Roberto Baggio, Ruud Gullit and Juan Sebastian Veron adorn “Svennis” all-star eleven, but there is a name that stands out somewhat.
Shocking (?) Choice
It is none other than the Swede Torbjörn Nilsson who forms attacking pair with Roberto Baggio, and “Svenni’s” choice really makes the English experts completely lose their chin. Especially when Eriksson goes so far that he thinks that Nilsson is his favorite player ever.
