21 MYOMS WERE REMOVED FROM THE Womb
21 fibroids were removed from the patient’s uterus with the surgical operation performed.
Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist Op.Dr. Gonca Oğurlu Pakay stated that her 35-year-old patient applied to the hospital with complaints of inability to conceive and painful heavy menstrual bleeding, and said, “During the examination, we detected many large and small fibroids that enlarged the uterus. These fibroids were removed by preserving the patient’s uterus, and the patient was discharged the next day. We think that this patient will now have a healthy child. Because these fibroids put very serious pressure on the uterine wall, the patient could not get pregnant.
“INCREASES RISK”
Mentioning that the uterus can be protected regardless of the number and size of fibroids, Op.Dr.Pakay said, “Fibroids can vary from a few centimeters to 20-30 centimeters. Some fibroids can make it difficult to conceive, as well as increase the risk of miscarriage and premature birth. Especially as the diameter of the fibroids in the uterus and on the uterine wall increases and their number increases, the risk of causing infertility increases. Therefore, when such a fibroid is encountered, the fibroids should be surgically removed in order to increase the chance of pregnancy.
