As the Ukraine-Russia war is approaching its first year, striking developments in the war do not stop. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s calls for arms support since the beginning of the war have found a response in the Western world. Finally, Germany announced that it plans to send Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine, as well as Leopard 2 tanks.
32 BILLION DOLLARS “SECURITY AID” FROM USA
The Pentagon Press Secretary, Brigadier General Pat Ryder, gave information about the total aid to Ukraine, saying:
“As of 2014, the United States has committed more than $32 billion in security assistance to Ukraine, including $29.3 billion since the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia on February 24.”
Putin: WE ARE THREATENED
On the other hand, in his speech on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the Stalingrad Victory, which Russia and Nazi Germany faced in World War II, Russian President Vladimir Putin said about the Leopard tanks to be sent to Ukraine, “We are again threatened by the German Leopard tanks.” .
GERMANY AND UKRAINE SHAKE HAND!
Following these developments, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that he agreed with Zelenskiy that the tanks, which were decided to be sent to Ukraine, would not be used to attack Russian territory.
Making a statement to the German-based Bild newspaper, Scholz stated that German tanks will be used within the borders of Ukraine and will not be used for any attack on the territory of the Russian Federation. Scholz answered the question on this subject by saying, “There is a consensus on this issue.”
