As you know, Peter Forsberg was good at scoring goals and points.
But there was nothing wrong with the defensive game either.
Just check this out as Forsberg puts the tackle of the earth on the tackle king himself – Niklas Kronwall.
All our own Peter Forsberg hardly needs any further introduction. The now 49-year-old Forsberg was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2014, and through his unparalleled efforts in the NHL and above all in the Colorado Avalanche, his jersey number 21 is now retired in Colorado.

And that he could contribute with his qualities offensively is of course no secret. In 2003, “Foppa” was awarded the “Art Ross Memorial Trophy”, which is an award given to the player who scored the most points during the regular season in the NHL.

But he wasn’t exactly uneven in the defensive game either, and could regularly dish out rock-hard tackles. The national team colleague got one like that Niklas Kronwall felt during a meeting between the Colorado Avalanche and Kronwall’s Detroit Red Wings.

Was “kronwalled”
Niklas Kronwall in particular is known as the great king of tackles, and it was not infrequently that he made sure that opposing players were “kronwalled”, which was a term that was coined via the defender’s peculiar way of tackling. But this time it was Forsberg who saw to it that Kronwall himself became “kronwalled”.

In the middle of the third and final period, Niklas Kronwall had found himself with the puck behind Colorado’s net. When he then turned his gaze away for a second, it narrowed – really. Forsberg completely ran over Kronwall, who for once got to experience what it’s like to be on the other side of a tackle.
