Peter Forsberg has made, to say the least, a strong impression in countless tournaments and championships.
One of the championships that “Foppa” completely dominated was the JVM in 1993.
And this video really shows that he was in a class of his own.
Peter Forsberg is one of our greatest sportsmen of all time, and he hardly needs any further introduction. But perhaps the JVM at home in 1993 is a championship that has fallen a little into oblivion with some.
The trio’s big show
“Foppa” dominated the tournament overall with a breathtaking 31 points in seven games, forming a dreaded chain along with Markus Näslund and Niklas Sundström.

At that time, the championship did not include a playoff, but was decided via a straight series. And after the early 5–4 loss to Canada, the junior crowns couldn’t catch up and had to settle for a runner-up finish in the tournament. This despite the fact that, for example, they won over Japan with the numbers 20-1 (!).

However, the chain with Peter Forsberg, Markus Näslund and Niklas Sundström was responsible for several impressive efforts during the tournament – not least in the match against the Czech Republic when they completely demolished the Czechs, who had little to oppose.
Perhaps the most beautiful moment is Markus Näslund’s goal, played by Peter Forsberg who almost looks like he has eyes in the back of his neck when he finds his attacking colleague in front of the box.
