FRENCH DAYS. Planned to compete with the famous Black Friday, the French Days should return in 2022 for two new editions. Discover all the first information, the participating brands and the first dates.
After two successful editions last year, the French Days should logically return in 2022 for new promotions dedicated to French consumers. Discover the various information already available on this event initiated by major French brands, as well as the various dates already likely to be communicated by the organizers.
The idea of French Days germinated a few years ago on the sidelines of Black Friday, a major end-of-year operation straight from the United States. Some professionals have been talking for a long time about creating this “during Black Friday”, in the words of Annabel Chaussat, then marketing and e-commerce director of Fnac-Darty. The operation was even pushed by the government since in January 2018, Delphine Gény-Stephann, Secretary of State to the Minister of Economy and Finance, called for a new commercial operation “Made in France”. The initiative will finally be launched in the spring of 2018, by several major French brands, with the aim of countering the giant Amazon. It has since been in the habit of being held at the end of April and has recently had a double in the fall. The key is a series of all-out promotions for a week in major French online brands such as Fnac / Darty, CDiscount or Boulanger.
There are two editions of the French Days per year, one being held in the spring and the other at the end of the year. The first is usually held towards the end of April-beginning of May. We can therefore logically imagine that the next edition of the French Days 2022 will be organized around April 23.
In view of the health context linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, the first edition for the year 2021 had been postponed and finally took place from May 27 to June 2, 2021. The second version of the French Days 2021 was, meanwhile, held from Friday, September 24 to Monday, September 27.
Six brands are behind the French Days: Boulanger, Fnac-Darty, Cdiscount, La Redoute, Rue du commerce and Showroomprivé. All of these brands naturally take part in these promotional offers, but they are generally not alone. Many other businesses and brands have already taken part in previous editions of the French Days. During the last editions, we could notably mention the participation of Electro Dépôt, Général d’Optique, Lyreco, and many other brands which generally take advantage of this to launch their own special operations in order to surf on the French Days effect.
The famous French brand specializing in cultural and high-tech products is obviously one of the participants in the French Days. This commercial campaign enables significant savings to be made on several references. During the last edition, Fnac notably offered great price reductions on several 4K televisions, smartphones, and tablets. But the palm of the most wanted product in 2021 finally went to a Xiaomi electric scooter. We will keep you informed about the different offers offered on Fnac’s official website.
A regular in promotional operations, the CDiscount site is one of the brands to have initiated the French Days movement. The brand is certainly the one that offered the most different products during the last edition. In particular, there were promotions on laptops, external batteries, household appliances and even a few video games. Like the other participants in the French Days, CDiscount should be back for the next edition to be held in 2022.
The French brand specializing in electronics and household appliances is also affected by the French Days. In mid-2021, Boulanger posted several very interesting promotions as part of this special French operation. There were notably several price reductions on voice assistants from Amazon and Google as well as some references of smartphones and connected objects. Boulanger should also be present for the next edition of the French Days 2022.
Although it also offers high-tech products including TVs, the Darty brand stands out from its competitors and partners in small and large household appliances. The firm is one of the leaders in this field by regularly offering the latest references available in terms of household appliances. It would therefore not be very surprising if Darty offered us this type of product again for the next edition. We can already expect to find refrigerators, ovens, or other appliances for the home.
Although the e-commerce giant is not directly a player in the French Days 2021, Amazon has a habit of displaying several great promotions on a whole bunch of products. These can very well benefit consumers who are looking for the best possible price, without being attached to the “French Days” operation itself. The American giant therefore offers its own offers, on the sidelines of the French operation.
