Officially Netflix has no 5th season yet ordered from Outer Banks. This is a big difference to the 4th season, because it was given the green light before the start of the 3rd season. Apparently the streamer wants to make sure exactly how much potential there really is in a further extension and is waiting for the numbers from the first few weeks.
At least the opening should provide a convincing argument for the 5th season: Outer Banks has dominated the top 10 most popular series on Netflix since last week. Now the only question is how long the series can last there. A first place finish alone is no longer enough to progress beyond four seasons.
