The beginning of the week will be very hot and sunny. An orange heatwave alert has been triggered by Météo France.
Summer is well and truly here and the mercury is particularly high in this last week of July. In its latest bulletin, Meteo France places thirteen departments on orange alert for heatwave, from Sunday July 28 at noon until at least Monday July 29. This alert concerns Gironde, Landes, Dordogne, Lot-et-Garonne, Gers, Haute-Garonne, Tarn-et-Garonne, Lot, Corrèze, Tarn, Haute-Savoie, Savoie and Haute-Corse. But the rest of the territory will not be left out in terms of heat. The only major difference will be the temperature at night, which will only drop by a few degrees.
On the night from Sunday to Monday, it will be 27°C in Biarritz and Bordeaux, 26°C in Nice, 25°C in Marseille and 24°C in Ajaccio. In the north, the night will be synonymous with coolness with 14°C in Chaumont, 15°C in Rouen, 16°C in Amiens and 17°C in Strasbourg.
Monday’s day
The sun will be there throughout the France Monday. Temperatures will be around 30°C throughout the country. According to Météo France forecasts, Bordeaux will be the hottest city with 37°C expected, followed by Toulouse, Limoges, and Gap where it will be 36°C. North of the Loire, it will also be hot, with more bearable temperatures. The minimum is 27°C in Belfort, Strasbourg, Metz, Reims, Lille, and Cherbourg.
The rest of the week will also be synonymous with heat throughout France, although a veil of clouds will cross the territory from west to east. Thunderstorms and rain are expected from Wednesday, July 31 in the evening. The weather will be gloomy until Saturday, August 3 in the afternoon. These few days of rain will lower the mercury, with differences of more than 10°C in some regions. This is particularly the case in Biarritz where it will only be 23°C on Saturday.
