“We respond to changes in the timetable, but also to incidents,” says Sander Creemer, team manager of the control room. “That ranges from a defective switch to a bomb threat.” But also people walking along the track, a ‘collision with a person’ or sheep or cows that make the rails unsafe. “Every day you encounter something different,” says Von Burg in the control room. “Even if it is a report that comes in more often, things still turn out differently. So you have to be able to constantly adapt.”
