“We act on changes in the timetable, but also on incidents,” says Sander Creemer, team manager of the control room. “That goes from a defective switch to a bomb alert.” But also people who walk along the track, a ‘collision with a person’ or sheep or cows that make the rails unsafe. “Every day you come across something else,” says Von Burg in the control room. “Even if it is a report that comes in more often, things are going differently again. So you have to be able to constantly adjust yourself.”
