WhatsApp will soon let you create and manage custom lists for your chats and groups. This should make your life easier, especially if you have a lot of contacts!
WhatsApp is such a convenient instant messaging service that we easily find ourselves having dozens, or even more, conversations at the same time. Between exchanges with our loved ones and group discussions, we can quickly become overwhelmed and get lost in the thread of the many conversations! Also, last month, Meta rolled out a highly anticipated feature, namely a “Favorites” filter that saves precious time, especially in urgent situations or when it comes to frequently reaching specific contacts (see our article). But WhatsApp does not intend to stop there! Indeed, the specialized site WABetaInfo discovered, in the beta version 2.24.16.14 of the Android application, a new lists function to manage people and groups.
WhatsApp Lists: Better Manage Your Discussions and Groups
WhatsApp’s new feature should allow users to create different lists to organize their contacts and groups, ensuring precise management of their interactions. This could be particularly useful, for example, to separate work colleagues, family members or groups of friends. This promises to be a relief, especially for users with many contacts.
Hopefully, this new list feature will also extend to status updates in the future. This way, we could share our photos and videos with specific groups, without having to send them to all contacts or adjust privacy settings for each send. All we would have to do is select the appropriate list. The feature is still in testing, so we’ll have to wait a bit before everyone can enjoy it in a stable version.
