The WhatsApp messaging application suffered an outage this Wednesday, April 3. Users have difficulty logging in or sending and receiving messages.
Connections to WhatsApp have been impossible since the early evening of Wednesday April 3. An outage is currently in progress on the messaging service and social network belonging to Meta, the parent company of Facebook. The web version displays an error message: “Service unavailable. We are having problems connecting to WhatsApp. Please try again in a few minutes.”
App users cannot send or receive messages. Calls are also impossible. Many users report a breakdown, according to data from the specialized site DownDetector. On X (formerly Twitter), Internet users have also noticed these connection problems. The outage appears to affect both the iOS and Android versions of the app, as well as the web version of WhatsApp.
“We know some people are experiencing issues at the moment, we are working to get everything back to 100% for everyone as quickly as possible,” we can read in a tweet from the messaging service. For the moment, the reasons for this service interruption remain unknown. In October 2022, the application, belonging to the Meta group (parent company of Facebook), had already experienced an outage for several hours.
