Many apps have a problem with parity in terms of functionality, and WhatsApp is no exception to this unwritten rule. However, Meta works to provide the same experience to all users regardless of the platform they use. Today, the social company took another step towards that goal by releasing a feature on Android that has long been available on other platforms such as iOS, Mac desktop, and WhatsApp Web.
New features are coming to WhatsApp
Mark Zuckerberg confirmed via his WhatsApp channel that Android users now have the ability to “search by date” in both individual and group chats. To take advantage of the new feature, go to individual or group chat details, tap the call button, and then select the calendar icon to choose a time slot.
WhatsApp is working on more search features, including filters like All, Contacts, Groups, Favorites, and Unread. While we don’t have a release date for any of these features that are currently being worked on, we can safely say that WhatsApp will add them once testing is over.
