WhatsApp offers a document scanning tool. You will no longer need to go through a third-party application to scan papers before sharing them with your contacts.
Not a month goes by without WhatsApp receiving new features or improvements. Over the last few months, the app has continued to evolve with a host of new features of varying degrees, to the delight of its approximately two billion users. Thus, instant messaging now allows you to transcribe voice messages into text, create drafts for messages, and even create and manage discussion lists. And Meta doesn’t plan to stop there!
Until now, users had to juggle between WhatsApp and external applications such as Google Drive to be able to scan and send documents. This was therefore not very practical and was a waste of time. But it turns out that instant messaging finally integrates a scanner directly into the application, as reported by the specialist site WABetaInfo.
Scan in WhatsApp: a tool integrated into the application
Thus, WhatsApp offers an option to quickly scan a document using the smartphone camera from the sharing interface. The process is simple: after scanning the document, users can preview the result and adjust the margins, which are automatically detected, so that the rendering is precisely framed. They can also rotate images and adjust colors, in order to have a perfectly readable document.
For now, this function is deployed exclusively on iOS in version 24.25.80 of the application. It is accessible via the App Store and only concerns a limited number of users. It will be rolled out to more people over the coming weeks. Android users will have to wait a while longer before they can take advantage of it.
