The app’s latest update introduced a long-awaited option that allows you to turn off the display of your last login date.
It is now done. WhatsApp has just announced that it has started rolling out a new feature to hide your online presence from some of your contacts. The option had been in testing for several weeks now in the beta version of the application.
WhatsApp strengthens its privacy options
This novelty is in line with the efforts put in place by the platform to strengthen the confidentiality of its users. You can now connect and send messages while appearing offline to your interlocutors. Your most finicky contacts will no longer be able to blame you for logging into the app and ignoring their messages.
Last December, WhatsApp began by removing the possibility for people who are not part of your address book to know the date and time of your last connection to the service. However, this only partially solved the problem. It was not until now possible to choose who, among your contacts, was authorized or not to have knowledge of this information.
Your privacy deserves more protection.
That’s why we’re excited to announce three ? layers of security to wrap your messages in.

WhatsApp is also expected to introduce, by the end of August, a new option allowing you to leave a group stealthily, without any other members being informed. Good news since until now the application automatically sent a notification to each member of a discussion group to let them know that you left the conversation. From now on, only group administrators will be notified of your departure.
Finally, the messaging app is testing a new option to tighten the security of its ephemeral photos and videos feature. Indeed, WhatsApp is about to inaugurate a function to prevent your correspondents from taking a screenshot of your single-view messages. Thus, your correspondents will no longer be able to save these ephemeral contents before they disappear definitively from the screen of their device.
