WhatsApp is working on a message editing function

EPN in Eastern Ukraine People are very worried This will

The instant messaging application is testing a feature to edit the messages sent a posteriori.

You may soon be able to fix the typos you’ve missed in your sent messages on WhatsApp. The messaging application is obviously working on an editing function that would allow you to edit the messages sent afterwards. The functionality could be deployed very soon, in a future Beta version of the application on Desktop, iOS and Android.

In any case, this is what WABetaInfo, a website dedicated to generally very well informed WhatsApp news, believes that has published several screenshots of the function to support its claims. The application could therefore shortly authorize you to correct typing errors and other spelling errors in the messages that you have sent to your correspondents. However, the messaging does not include a history allowing access to all the modifications that have been made to a missive.

In addition, there is no indication for the time being whether the application will limit the duration during which a message can be edited after sending. As the functionality is still under development, these last two points could nevertheless evolve, in particular because such a function is not without risk. It would indeed be quite surprising if WhatsApp authorized the modification of a message sent by its author, without the possibility for the recipient to be aware of the elements that had been edited.

WhatsApp would not be at its first attempt. According to WABetaInfo, the platform would have already tested the possibility of editing messages a posteriori a few years ago. The courier had quickly abandoned this idea, however. Over the past few months, Meta messaging has stepped up its efforts to attract new users by offering new features. A few weeks ago, WhatsApp inaugurated, for example, the possibility of sending reactions in the form of emojis in conversations at the same time as it launched its community service tool. More recently, we learned that the application was working on a paid Premium version for professional users of WhatsApp Business.
