WhatsApp continues to develop new features for iOS and Android users. As you know, the platform under the umbrella of Meta, which works for users to message in an easier and more functional way than WhatsApp, has been offering the last seen feature for a long time. Thus, you can see the last time the people you want to chat with were active on WhatsApp, and you can decide whether or not to send messages accordingly. Although WhatsApp offers some ways to hide your last seen, it is now taking a new step.
LAST VIEW ON WHATSAPP
WhatsApp is introducing a new privacy measure that hides your “last seen” status from people you don’t know or chat with on the app. In fact, we can say that it makes an existing option default.
Previously, WhatsApp defaulted to “Everyone” and allowed anyone on WhatsApp to see your last seen status. With the new step taken by WhatsApp, the visibility of your last seen is limited to the contacts you have added to the platform and your last seen is set to “My Contacts” by default. So only your contacts and people you chat with can see your status. Everyone else is blocked from seeing them.
ANOTHER FEATURE IS ALSO TESTED
This isn’t the only change WhatsApp has planned for last seen. Back in November, it was discovered that the messaging app had begun testing an option called “Except My Contacts…” that would allow users to hide their status from certain contacts.
NEW OPTIONS TO TIME MESSAGES FROM WHATSAPP
WhatsApp also changed the 7-day rule in timed messages and announced that it added two new timed messages, such as 24 hours and 90 days.
