WHATSAPP BLOCKED. Are you using an unofficial version of WhatsApp with additional functions? Be careful, because your account could soon be blocked and you will no longer have access to the messaging …
WhatsApp, the messaging app with more than two billion users around the world, isn’t too keen on the competition. Especially when she operates her network without her permission. And she makes it known. In his sights, apps like GB WhatsApp or WhatsApp Plus. So-called MOD programs (modified versions of the official application) that cannot be found on the Apple App Store or the Android Google Play Store but that must be repatriated from other stores. These apps allow of course to communicate on the WhatsApp network but by offering additional functions. GB WhatsApp that can be installed on Android, for example, provides a wide variety of graphic themes, allows you to hide your online status, hide the read confirmation of messages, lock conversations by password or send more than ten photos at a time in a missive. WhatsApp Plus for its part brings similar functions to which are added automatic replies to messages (an option available only in the Pro version of the official WhatsApp app) or even support for four simultaneous accounts. So many subtleties that displease Meta (formerly Facebook), the parent company of WhatsApp.
WhatsApp accounts blocked and users banned
To fight against these apps that deprive it of a good number of users, WhatsApp is not going all the way. The company has decided to temporarily block users who do not use the official version of its program. “If you’ve received an in-app message that says your account is temporarily blocked, it means it’s likely you’re using an unsupported version of WhatsApp instead of the official WhatsApp app.”, can we read on its help pages. And drive the point home: “If you do not switch to the official app after being temporarily blocked, your account may be permanently banned and you will no longer be able to use WhatsApp”. To justify its intentions, WhatsApp explains that these applications developed by third parties violate its terms of use and that it is impossible for it to verify their security practices.
