The WhatsApp messaging application will soon be able to broadcast your favorite music.

Always wishing to offer new features, WhatsApp’s parent company, Meta (Facebook, Instagram …), recently announced working on a new option for users of the application. In addition to the correction of bugs of all kinds, which can occur within WhatsApp, Meta will soon make possible for users to share music within WhatsApp. We explain how to proceed.

This feature to add music within WhatsApp is quite similar to the last update that Instagram knew. If you have the photo and videos management application, you may have seen a change on your profile in recent months. Meta allowed Instagram users to post their favorite music on their profile. It is then possible to launch the favorite music of a user while you travel their profile and observe your photos and videos. Something to add a small musical touch during your interactions, a bit like emojis!

This novelty is also planned for WhatsApp. Spotted by the Wabetainfo site, it allows users of the application to share musical extracts on their status. So far, the latter above all made it possible to indicate to your contacts if you were available or what you were currently doing, like a status on Facebook. With update 2.24.22.11, you will only have to go to your WhatsApp application, click on your status and select the option to add more (or instead) music from a status written to writing. You can also change the music as many times as you want.

To benefit from the update 2.24.22.11, it will be necessary to wait a little more. The latter is currently available in beta version on Android and during the test. It should then be available for everyone in the coming weeks so keep your application up to date!

The addition of music within WhatsApp is not trivial. In addition to Instagram which made the same change a few months ago, the social network X (formally Twitter) would also seem to work on this same functionality. Social applications and networks seem to have understood that users like to share music as well as messages or images.
