What will the next IPCC report, which will be released on Monday, be about?

The second part of the latest IPCC report, which will include three in the end, will be released on February 28 and looks different from the previous ones. It should mainly focus on immediate solutions to adapt to disasters linked to global warming and recognize the knowledge of populations that were once despised.

This new report will focus more on the regional impacts of climate change, but also on the consequences in cities and coastal areas. Although it once again looks alarming, the report will also provide proposals for solutions to current problems. The conclusions of the three international working groups that have worked on this aspect should therefore focus more on immediate solutions concerning I’adaptation threats related to global warming : as a priority, to face the climatic migrations of the affected populations and to prepare for massive floods.

Recognition of the traditional knowledge of indigenous populations

While the previous IPCC conclusions focused on reducing emissions greenhouse gas emissions, the news will mainly focus on adaptation solutions to the disasters already underway and those that are coming in the near future. Another novelty, the recognition of the knowledge of the populations native and their often ecological traditional knowledge, without exposing only the science of the West. Adaptation solutions will no longer only be those of rich countries, the main emitters of greenhouse gasbut also those of poor countries, which suffer more from the effects of global warming even though they are less responsible for it.
