EA disappointed Sims fans and announced that Sims 5 was not developed. However, this could be an opportunity to bring Sims 4 to Nintendo Switch.
Electronic Arts (EA) has disappointed fans of the popular life simulation game series The Sims. The company announced that the highly anticipated Sims 5 was not developed and was not in its plans. This news caused great disappointment, especially among Nintendo Switch users.
The Sims 4 Adaptation to Switch Could Be Great
However, this could be an opportunity for EA to bring Sims 4 to the Nintendo Switch platform. While the Sims series can currently be played on other consoles such as Xbox and PlayStation, it is noteworthy that there is no Switch version.
EA CEO Andrew Wilson has previously stated that Switch users generally prefer other platforms to play EA games. However, over time, Nintendo Switch has asserted its claim in this field with hit life simulation games such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The Sims 4 may require some optimizations on the Switch’s technically outdated hardware. However, adding touch controls to the game and being able to play it on a portable device could make the Switch version unique and appealing. With the rich content and additional packages of Sims 4, it can offer a comprehensive life simulation experience for Switch users.
Nintendo platforms have hosted many interesting Sims spin-off games in the past. Some of these have proven to be better than the main series games. Including Sims 4 or future Sims games at the Switch or Switch 2 launch would strengthen the series’ presence on Nintendo consoles.
