The city of Saint-Jean-de-Luz has been hit by a tragedy. On Wednesday February 22, 2023 around 10 a.m., a Spanish teacher from the private and Catholic Saint Thomas Aquinas high school was stabbed by one of her students during class. Injured in the thorax, she died after having made a cardio-respiratory arrest and despite the intervention of the emergency services.
