The first stabbing incident on Balijelaan took place in the late evening of Wednesday, September 27. When a 23-year-old woman was cycling near the bus stop, a man cycled next to her. He pulled her hair hard, causing her to fall. He then stabbed her with a sharp object and quickly fled on his bicycle. The woman had to go to hospital for treatment.
On Saturday, September 30, another 23-year-old woman was attacked in a similar manner. She parked her bicycle around 2:30 am near the intersection between Croeselaan and Balijelaan in Utrecht. At that moment she was stabbed with a sharp object by a man who robbed her of her shoulder bag and then cycled away.
In the night of Monday 2 to Tuesday 3 October it happened again. This time the victim was a 20-year-old woman. Shortly after midnight she was riding on the back of a friend’s bicycle when a man cycled next to them. He approached the woman from behind and almost immediately stabbed her with a sharp object. She suffered minor injuries to her neck and face.
