The short film where Mickey Mouse and his friends go on a caravan holiday has been part of the Donald Duck Christmas program since 1982, and is now one of the most classic features.
As you know, the caravan itself is a complicated story that, among other things, carries with it its own garden and view, and is full of all kinds of nooks and crannies.
The caravan also acts as a garage for the tow truck driven by Goofy, and according to Donald Duck & Co, it is nothing less than a T-Ford – one of the world’s first public cars.

A car of its time
Towing a trailer with something as archaic as a T-Ford might seem strange until you realize that the short film debuted back in 1938, when the T-Ford was still relatively modern.
Many people think that the T-Forden was the world’s first car, but this is not the case. The T-Ford was launched in 1908, which is over 20 years after Karl Benz launched his Patent-Motorwagen in 1886.

It is, on the other hand, the first car to be mass-produced according to the assembly line principle, which made it accessible in terms of price to the broad masses.
After the assembly line principle was implemented in 1914, a new T-Ford rolled out of the factory every 24 seconds, and roughly 15 million cars were thus built before production ceased in 1927.

Not the only car in Donald Duck’s world
Long-legged T-Ford is not the only car in Donald Duck’s universe.
Another famous wagon is Donald Duck’s own Skruttomobile with registration number 313, which is supposed to be based on the American Bantam model from 1938.

Grandma Duck’s car is the most ancient of the series, and is based on the Detroit Electric from 1907, which is an electric car with a range of 34 miles. Electric cars were popular at the beginning of the last century, but were outcompeted by mass-produced petrol cars such as the T-Ford.
In Kalle Anka Pocket there has also been a sports car named Alfalfa Romeo, based on Alfa Romeo Montreal.
