Charlotte Barris: The social position index… The IPS is a subject that concerns the school. And at L’Express we have an education specialist: Amandine Hirou, journalist in the Society department. Hi Amanda!

Amandine Hirou : Hi Charlotte!

Charlotte Baris : If I remember correctly what I learned at school, to define an index, you have to do calculations… So how do you establish this social position index, which you will attribute to schools?

Amandine Hirou : The calculation is done in 2 steps: We will first calculate the GPI of each student in a given establishment. We will give a score between 45 and 185 to the student. Once we have the IPS of each student, we will calculate the average of all these individual IPS: which will give an overall number of points per establishment.
