Mathias Penguilly: The Republican arch. And given the current context, you can imagine that I called on a journalist from the political department of L’Express. More precisely to Paul Chaulet. Paul, I admit that I have heard the term republican front more often, so what is the difference between the front and the republican arc?
Paul Chaulet : The republican arc is a more recent term. The idea in both cases is the same. These are notions which insinuate that certain parties are not republican, do not respect the Republic and therefore should be put aside. Apart from that, it’s a pretty vague concept. What does Republican mean? Are these values? And if so which ones? Is it the institutions? Everyone puts a bit of what they want into it, but there is still an evolution between the Republican arc and the Republican front.
