Kent’s bundle is a thin strip of heart tissue responsible for Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a heart disease characterized by a conduction disorder.
The Kent bundle directly connects an atrium to a ventricle of the heart, causing a short circuit and abnormally rapid transmission of impulses. THE Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome is manifested by palpitations, tachycardias, shortness of breath and malaise. Electrocardiography can diagnose it. In the most severe cases, the Kent bundle is removed (surgical ablation).
