Cupping, which was the most used treatment method in the Ottoman period, is a popular application today. This application, which should not be done without the approval of a doctor, is used in the treatment of many diseases. Some people also have hijama treatment to strengthen the immune system and to cleanse the body of toxins. As with all alternative medicine methods, there are some negative effects for cupping. Especially people with sensitive body, people with allergic reactions should be very careful and if they want to have hijama treatment, they should definitely get approval from their doctors. Otherwise, this alternative treatment application, which is known to cure many diseases, can harm human health. Another important point for the application of hijama is the day and time of the application.
When is hijama done?
Hijama times, also known as the hijama calendar, are generally all seasons, but the time known as sunnah is accepted as spring and autumn. The day when the moon becomes a full moon is an important day for hijama. Because the application should be done within the time period when the full moon starts to shrink. The reason for this is thought to be the period when the toxic substances in the body are closest to the skin surface under the influence of the Moon’s gravitational pull when the Moon is full.
When are the hijama days?
Cupping, which is considered to be circumcised, should not be done unless it is necessary, but if it is to be done, it is recommended to be applied to the area where the organs in distress are located or represented according to the cupping calendar on the specified days. It is believed that the most auspicious days for this practice, which is used more frequently in Islamic countries, are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. These days are accepted as hijama days. If there is an emergency, hijama can be done on other days. For example, the golden day in hijama for 2023 is calculated as Tuesday, June 6th. Apart from this, hijama days, which are calculated to be the most effective for 2023, are given differently for each month. 2023 Hijama calendar:

At what times is the hijama done?
In accordance with the hijama calendar determined according to the Hijri calendar, therapeutic cupping can be done regardless of what day or what time it is. However, it should not be applied in the first five days and the last five days of the Hijri month. As for the hour, the time within two hours starting one hour after the sunrise was deemed appropriate. In cases where this is not possible, hijama treatment can be performed between noon and afternoon hours.
