What is the world’s longest word?
The world’s longest word is a technical word, namely a chemical designation. It is the chemical name for the protein titin, also called connectin.
But how far is it exactly?
The chemical coating takes three and a half hours to read and contains a whopping 189,819 letters. IN Illustrated Science titin’s chemical name has been significantly shortened. The world’s longest word thus looks something like the following:
Methionylthreonylthreonylglutaminylalanyl(…)isoleucine.

It is Sweden’s longest word – according to the Swedish Academy
There are divided opinions on which is the longest word in the Swedish language.
According to The Swedish Academy’s dictionary (SAOL) is the longest Swedish word Realisationsvinstbeskattning, which can be shortened to capital gains tax. The word refers to the tax you pay on earned capital.

The Guinness Book of Records from 2006 is of a different opinion. According to it, the longest word in the Swedish language is north-west-sea-coastal-artillery-flight-reconnaissance-simulator-construction-equipment-maintenance-follow-up-system-discussion-post-preparation-work.
At 130 letters, it’s admittedly longer than SAOL’s capital gains tax, but contains quite a few hyphens. Capital gains taxation, on the other hand, consists of 28 letters.
