A production like Furiosa takes a long time. In October 2020, Warner Bros. gave the green light and preparations for Furiosa began, as Deadline reported. A year and a half later, filming began in Australia under the direction of George Miller. Furiosa is said to have cost up to $168 million. According to Deadline, it is the most expensive Australian production in history: over $233 million is said to have flowed into the Australian economy.
