Clash of Clans, Clash Royale and the ultra-successful developers of popular games like Boom Beach are back with a brand new game called Brawl Stars. Brawl Stars is a game where players from all over the world can fight in the ultimate fight. It is a 3v3 shooter game! As you progress through the game, you’ll unlock new characters, upgrade your fighters’ stats, and even gain access to new game modes.
Game Modes
The aim is different depending on the game mode you are playing. There are four different game modes in Brawl Stars, but since they are randomly selected; You cannot choose which game modes to play. Here is a brief description of each game mode…
Smash & Grab
Each team tries to get the crystals from the middle of the map while fighting the opposing team. When a player dies, they drop any crystals they have onto the battlefield. The first team to collect 10 crystals and hold them for the 16-second countdown wins the match.
heist
In Heist you will either be on the defending or attacking team. The defending team is responsible for preventing the attacking team from opening the safe that protects all of their crystals. Each match of Heist lasts only 2.5 minutes; If the bank is still standing at the end of the countdown, the defending team will win. Otherwise, the attacking team will win.
bounty
Bounty is an old team deathmatch. You must collect stars for your team by defeating the opponents. The team with the most stars at the end of the match wins.
showdown
The only non-3v3 game mode, Showdown is actually a free 10-player game where the last player standing wins! You have to be careful as everyone is trying to kill you. You shouldn’t neglect the barrels either, as they contain power-ups that will give you an advantage over your opponents. The longer you last, the greater the rewards you will receive.
Tips and Tricks
Brawl Stars’ crazy and fun combat system makes the game easy to pick up and play, but harder to master. Each character has different abilities, stats and weapons that lead to endless strategy possibilities; however, some strategies will make you a much better fighter overall, regardless of which character you like to play. We’ve written some useful tips and tricks for each mode to make you the best fighter you can be.
Game Events
These game events are valid for a specific time indicated by green text (as shown above) in the top right corner of the event. When a game event expires, it will be replaced by a new event for you to play. This could be a completely different game mode or the same game mode on a different map.
When you start Brawl Stars for the first time, you will only have access to one game event slot and you will need to unlock other event portions. You will unlock new fighters by collecting them. You need access to three fighters to unlock the second slot, five fighters to unlock the third slot, and eight fighters to unlock the fourth slot.
fighters
Brawlers are the characters you use to fight your opponents in the game. Each fighter has a different weapon, playstyle, and super ability that makes them unique. There are 15 different fighters in total; however, you will only start the game with access to a Brawler named Shelly. You can access more by opening Brawl Boxes.
Brawler Boxes
Brawl Boxes are Brawl Stars’ treasure chests and you must use 100 coins or 10 gems to open them. As you win matches, collect trophies and level up, you will be rewarded with coins; however, gems are a high quality currency that you have to pay via in-app purchase.
The contents of a Brawler Box are random and opening one will help you unlock new brawlers and even upgrade your existing brawlers to make them more powerful. Here is a short list of rewards you can find in Brawl Box:
- New Brawler: You can run into a fighter you didn’t have access to before in Brawl Box.
- Plugs: If you open a box and a fighter you already own comes along, you are given a chip instead. These chips can be used to buy new fighters you don’t have access to yet. The cheapest fighter only costs three chips, but the most expensive characters cost 600 chips.
- Potion: These purple potions are used to upgrade your current fighter and make them stronger. You can get one potion at a time or even get a five-pack from the box if you’re lucky.
Brawler Upgrade
All of your fighters have initial stats such as health, damage, and super ability damage, but these are not exact. You can upgrade your Brawler with the potions from the boxes. The first upgrade to each stat will only cost you one elixir, but each subsequent upgrade will cost you more and more. Choose your favorite fighters and accumulate your hard-earned potions to make them even better!
Control Mode
You can change the way you control your Brawler by going to the settings menu in the game. There are two different control groups:
Joystick Mode: You can play with a virtual joystick by dragging your finger anywhere on the screen. You have to touch a target to shoot.
Touch Mode: Tap the screen to move your brawler to a location. Drag your finger to aim your gun and release to shoot.
Groups
If you go to the social tab in the main menu of Brawl Stars, you have the option to join a group. As of now, groups are a way to connect with other players through a chat room.
Premium Currency
There is only one premium currency in Brawls Stars and that is gems. You can open a Brawl Box with 10 gems and the only way to get gems is to purchase them in-app.
