Fewer are using cash, but several power are made to secure their continued existence. At the end of last year, the Riksbank proposed that requirements for traders who sell vital goods should be introduced to receive cash.
In the same vein left the Swedish Democrats’ Dennis Dioukarev A proposal to the Riksdag that grocery stores and pharmacies should have cash requirements.
The Swedish Agency for Social Protection and Preparedness has also urged people to have cash at home in cases of war or crisis.
