So far, so easy. In Germany, however, there is a bit of chaos when it comes to the titles and number of books. While English-speaking fans are waiting for part 6, Germans are talking about Game of thrones book 11 etc. This is due to the local publication policy of the Blanvalet/Penhaligon publishers.

The order of the Game of Thrones books to match the seasons
George RR Martin has yet to wrap up A Song of Ice and Fire, but showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss have closed their Season 8 series. That’s why the comparison between books and seasons doesn’t quite add up. Roughly speaking, there are these parallels:
Based on what the showrunners and George RR Martin have said, the final two books, The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring, will be very different from Seasons 7 and 8, although perhaps reaching the same goal.

When will the 6th or 11th book appear?
There is no release date for the next book in the series. George RR Martin had already completed several chapters of the novel in 2010, but plans to publish part 6 before the end of the series came to nothing. Most recently, the author expressed hopes of completing the book in 2021.
