what form will the mission of the contingent of Kenyan

In Haiti, a first contingent of the multinational security support force landed on Tuesday, June 25 at Toussaint Louverture airport in Port-au-Prince. It is impossible at the moment to imagine the form that this force, largely supported by the UN and the United States, will take. We are only on the first day of a mission which must last a year, according to the resolution approved by the UN Security Council.

On Tuesday, June 25, Haitian Prime Minister Garry Conille welcomed the arrival of the first contingent with relief, he greeted during a press conference “ a unique opportunity to restore security in the country “, but Garry Conille did not provide any details on the mission plan. The vagueness therefore remains in place.

No field operations until force is at full strength

So, according to some Haitian security experts, it is urgent to wait until the force is fully assembled in Haiti before considering any field operation. Kenya had offered to send a thousand men with logistical support, a new contingent should arrive on Thursday June 27 to swell the ranks of the first 200 who arrived on Tuesday.

And that’s not all: Benin, Chad, the Bahamas, Barbados and Bangladesh have also committed to supporting this multinational security support mission, but for the moment, no news from these country.
