What does the abolition of the voluntary parental contribution mean

That has changed at public primary school De Veldrakker in Nieuwegein since the law of 2021. For the past two years, the school has been short of money every year for the school trip, Sinterklaas, and other such activities that are expected. The contribution there is around 30 euros, but since a large number of parents do not or do not pay for all children, it is a puzzle every year. Director Eelco Dam says: “We sometimes receive support from the parents’ association, and we have also spent a lot of money from our foundation on it in recent years, but you can’t keep doing that.”
