Even among the most experts in drivers, priority on the road can sow a lot of confusion. At a crossroads or when arriving at the approach of an intersection in the city, we see uncertain drivers on the procedure to follow. Who has priority? There are several priority panels and signals that all drivers know. The “stop” panel means that we have to stop and give in the passage. On a road with a triangle -shaped panel, the sign indicates that it is necessary to yield the passage to all the vehicles, coming from the left or the right. ÇA This is the easy part.
But what’s going on at a crossroads if no panel is present? The theory says that thehe first vehicle to leave is the one who has the free right, then the others who, in turn, have the free right. But it is sometimes more complicated than that as on this example:
In this case, the yellow car advances to the red car and lets it pass. The red car goes before the yellow car first and advances to the blue car and lets it go. The blue car goes third and finally the red car is advancing and ends its turn last. It therefore happens in 4 stages as shown in the image below.
And what happens if there are 4 vehicles in the crossroads? There it gets complicated since everyone has someone on their right. In this case, the easiest way is to remain courteous and let the first car pass. Then, the theory wants the priority to the right to apply again since a vehicle can pass.
But stay attentive because it often happens that when the drivers have let the first arrival pass, they expect the following to pass is the second arrival even if he does not have the priority.
